On the afternoon of September 29, the first meeting of the Graduate Teaching Steering Committee of Hainan Normal University was hosted by Vice-President Guo Jianchun, entrusted by President Lin Qiang, Director of the Graduate Teaching Steering Committee of Hainan Normal University, in Conference Room 1 of the Office Building.

At the meeting, Vice President Guo Jianchun gave a brief explanation on the significance and responsibilities of the establishment of the Graduate Teaching Steering Committee. Zhang Xingji, the director of the Graduate Teaching Steering Committee Office, read out the Notice of Hainan Normal University on the Establishment of the Graduate Teaching Steering Committee (Haishi [2018] 180).

At the first meeting, various topics were considered one by one. The list of outstanding doctoral dissertations to be recommended for application in Hainan Province, the list of outstanding master's dissertations to be recommended for application in Hainan Province and the list of professional master's dissertations to be recommended for application in the 7th National Excellent Teaching Master were selected. The first voluntary student source scholarship for postgraduate enrollment and doctoral student enrollment were adopted. Several proposals have been put forward, such as the restriction of admission ratio for Vocational examinees, the setting of foreign languages for postgraduate entrance examinations, and the adjustment of the setting of postgraduate public basic English courses.
